Kevin
Two things
One is the labels them selves identify either Nitrox , deco gas (gases above
40 and marked) or oxygen
Second is the cylinders have the sticker on the neck of the bottle with fO2
and MOD so by different colors on stickers, different wording and the EANx
sticker is larger plus the tapped sticker on the cylinder neck with mix and
mod really is easy to notice in the water by the diver and buddy

Tom, I don't see how these labeling procedures allow the diver carrying the
bottles or a fellow diver to determine what the MOD is on a tank without
swimming within 1 foot of the tanks and looking at the normally small and
smudged content markings on this small contents sticker.

It seems to me (IMHO) that most of these marking standards are to prevent
novice divers from taking one of these tanks diving, not to prevent the
real danger, which is breathing the wrong mix at the wrong depth, ie
UNDERWATER.

The only exception being the required "Oxygen" sticker on EAN91 or greater,
but again, this is an exception, why not just big numbers indicating the
MOD on everything?
