Has anyone tried simply cutting two slots in the backplate and threading cam 
bands through them to hold the single tank?

     To answer the recent query regarding single tank adapters, the least
expensive method (as I recall from a previous post on this forum), is to cut a 
1/3 sector from a piece of six inch PVC pipe, running the straps behind it.
