Then why the >hell didn't she simply COMMUNICATE the problem to her instrokter? This device >sounds *really* reliable. It obviously didn't work. From the reports we heard from the group, of the 5 divers using these, all flooded and failed except for one---which was used to tell the boat that they had a diver in trouble, sinking. This led to the boat getting a reasonably good idea of where the body might be. So while using these things may kill you, the use of them may help someone recover your body better later, if enough people in your group are using them---and if enough of them survive long enough to report the problem. And it must be a great deal for the dive shop, because it requires so many to be purchased, in order to have at least one that will function as intended. I'm thinking we should have a special IANTD dive package, where for one price, you get the bondage wings, the dive link, the IANTD stickers to put everywhere---proclaiming your bravery ( well, you would have to be brave to be a new student, and to do a 300 foot dive with an instructor who would just as soon kill you, as sell you bogus dive gear). And then for an extra $2000, they could through in the "quality instruction", that would deprogram you of all the intelligence you learned from PADI, and indoctrinate you into the mindset of the IANTD techno freak, who prefers as many convolutions in gear as possible, no matter what the cost. It has to make you wonder if maybe we will see a merger bid soon between Cochran and IANTD, as both seem to like expensive pieces of shit that look cool in a showroom, but could be even better at killing divers.
