Gas mixtures like H2 + O2 are only explosive if the ratio is in a certain
range.  Increase the O2 enough, or the H2 enough, and it is safe.

In diving applications, you have to ensure that the O2 is below a certain
level at all times.  I forget what that level is - I think 2%.  Of course,
at fO2 = 0.02, you have to be quite deep before you can start using it.  We
want ppO2 > 0.16 ATA, so if those numbers are right (this is all from
memory), then you would need to be at 8 ATA before breathing the mix.

8 ATA is 231 feet.

If my memory is right on the numbers, that makes Hydrox really only suitable
for saturation diving.

Hydrox is also good with milk  ... (joke for U.S. and its cultural colonies
only).
