It's not really all that much like the MagLite, once you get past the aluminum case. It sure looks impressive. Not a bad light head, but heavy and due to its size not so easy to stow when it's not in use. I've tried tying clips in a few different places and none have resulted in a wholly satisfactory arrangement. I have seen the front glass break, which of course results in a flood. This happened to my wife during a cave training dive. She was doing a pull-and-glide with the light in her hand. The side of the head up front contacted a rock and it was slightly deformed, which put a chip in the glass. Fortunately, I was able to change the glass without having to fix the deformation. I also have had the rubber seal over the toggle switch spring a leak. Another flood. Since there's already a switch on the canister, I'd rather not have the second switch anyway. I don't know if that head is available without the switch. The Goodman style heads are much more compact and lighter, stow better, and they're easier to use when you need both hands. My next light(s) will have Goodman heads. Art Greenberg artg@ec*.ne* -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
