Subject: Re: gator wraps
Hi,

I have noticed that Brownies is selling a new product called "gator wraps."
I know George Irvine has made reference to "gaitors" in previous posts, but he
never provided an explaination of them, at least not one I can find. Can
anyone confirm if these are one in the same?

Does anyone know what would be the purpose of this item? I need some
further information on them. I am guessing that they are used to constrict the
lower leg of a dry suit to prevent feet first inversion in an overhead
environment. Is this correct?
Has anyone used this product, or a simlar item to acheive this purpose? Are
there any tricks or tips to using them, either in a cave or in open water?

Would these devices have any utility to an open water dry suit diver? Are
there alternatives to the brownies product? books, pamplets, web sites for do
it your selfers? ( i mean for the gaitor concept, not generics)

I appreciate any comments anyone has. Additionally if someone with access
could pass this on to freeattic I would be very grateful.

Thanks,

Al Marvelli aka KybrSose@ao*.co*
