Yes, let's get everyone informed.

I've never said protein in itself is bad. I have said ketogenic based
protein diets (those which throw your body into a state of ketosis)
are bad, and excessive amounts of protein are harmful.

I don't want people reading stuff on the internet and saying, "Well
if Tom Mount and company feel that protein is important, I better
make sure to eat extra eggs and bacon at breakfast to get all the
protein I possibly can!". I believe a properly informed person can
draw their own conclusions, so I do not believe in hiding the bad in
any situation.

BTW, did I mention to you that I'm deriving most of my protein from
vegatable matter? You'd be surprised the amount of different ways you
can cook beans (Dan, is this where your "stinky vegans" quote came
from?? ;-) or tofu, but protein is what I am looking for, not
saturated fats and heavy triglycerides which can be found in too much
animal protein (for the record I'm not a vegan). Sushi is a really
lean source too, but you need to get past the worms.

The bottom line on diet is for the average sedate person they need a
well balanced diet and to get off their butt. Seeing a dietician
wouldn't hurt for the truly extreme cases either.

Oh yeah, I got thrown out of the gym again yesterday after 5.25 miles
on the treadmill.. I suppose if they fixed the 5 broken ones they'd
probably not complain about my hogging one for 45 minutes at a crack.
