Hey why single out the poor old Desperation?
I've got one of these and it's not bad.
I suppose that makes me one of the shade tree crowd :(

What do you mean by manual control?
Mine, and all the prototypes I've tried, control PPO2 automatically.

So what is its record anyway?
I ran through the rebreather archives and found plenty of mud-slinging but
precious few hard facts levelled against it.
I've also found some very well informed stuff written in its favour.
Certainly, people who know it seem quite complimentary.

I give mine a fair bit of abuse, but it's sturdy and hasn't broken yet.
It's nicely (strongly) built and breathes really well.
It's also pleasant to swim with and doesn't have any more drag than my
twins.
Yeah OK, it's a CCR, but it is neat and simple.

Regards, Ewan Rowell
