This is a complete copy of an e mail I received this morning from Arnold Jackson (America Underwater Lighting). I see no reason to comment on it or try to start some kind of pissing contest over whose light is bigger, badder , brighter or whatever anal focus the list's will wander off on over this. I've posted this only because Bob Sherwood posted a very good post to a question I raised concerning Beneath the Sea and some lights I saw there. This is a rebuttal to Bob's post, not a reason to clog everyone's computer with more gibberish. -----Original Message----- From: AMERUWLITE [mailto:AMERUWLITE@ao*.co*] Sent: Wednesday, March 25, 1998 7:01 PM To: william Subject: Kick ass Dear Bill: This letter that you are about to send is from George Irvine the Director of WKPP I want to thank you for years of support to the WKPP. We appreaciate your taking over the light-making that Lamar English used to do, and appreaciate your duplication of the "Gavin" light, since Bill also stopped making them. We are thankful to you for making us costom lights, like the "Five Hour Jackson" that I used to penetrate 11,000 feet into Wakulla Springs, and the lights you made for our teem to set the World's Record penetration at Chip's Hole. Obviously, the scooter parts are a big help as well. Thanks again George Irvine Director, WKPP You know it sure is funny the worlds Best Cave Divers use AUL light's not some clone. The Gavin or S-100 Lightind system was made by Bill Gavin a Navy Engineer and was dived by many great divers. The lighting system that JJ dived in Turkey was a spectrum 14 made by American Underwater Lighting just like the scooter's they used in the Turkey project made by AUL. The only reason JJ is supporting the Barry Miller light is because he gets a kick back. Money is the root of all evil. The bottom of the Barry Lights is wrong ask the Engineer or try diving the thing to 600 feet it will break. We don't have to put heat shrink around the brass connector to keep it from leaking or know how the material makes any difference around the head for heat. I guess they found a way to make fire underwater if there is a burning problem. The reason they have a life time guarantee is because that is the only way they can sell them. I hope this helps you if not call back and i will give you more bullets. Arnold Jackson -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
