I have generally had success with the DCIEM tables, especially the 1S table, being at least as conservativeas my Suunto Solution. However, this computer is older than yours, and your mileage may vary. There is absolutely no reason for the two to match - except that they are both trying to model the same thing. The DCIEM model is a two interconnected chambers model, which approximates at a very gross level a slab diffusion model. (BSAC '88 does something similar.) I beleive that the Suunto is a Buhlmann model, so it has traditional Haldanean compartments. One can dive DCIEM (or any table) using the Equivalent Air Depth method. I have no idea whether this is officially sanctioned. Wrolf -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
