Subject: Re: dive contest Worth Reading

     J.T. Baker,
As far as I can see, this whole thing pretty much boils down
to who is willing to travel and who isn't. I go to Florida at least
twice a year to dive and look forward to trying all the Ocean diving
Florida has to offer (as of yet I haven't tried the caves, maybe
soon). My guess is that you are about the same as me in that regard.
However it seems that there are some few from Florida (NOT MOST) that
belittle our divers and diving without seeing it first hand. My guess is
FEAR has a lot to do with it. After all, the water is cold; the visibility
is limited; and the lobsters have claws. Some people take their
diving more seriously than others and look forward to new challenges.
Others hide behind their bravado. But then you have to respect
these few, for as "dirty harry" said, "a man has got to know his
limitations". It's just unfortunate that they feel the need to run
their mouths about the diving they are either unwilling to try or
are incapable of doing, and the divers who do it!
