Fact is, the Instructor who I trained in nitrox, I decided AFTER he took the course, based on a Video Taped interview I personally had with him, to not issue his card, and give him a refund. Here are some of the comments "Gerry", (who is Puerto Rican) made in his video taped interview with me: 1) I do not care about standards, and will not report anyone who violates standards. 2)The store and people that Bohrer is teaching nitrox and tr-mix blending is doing oxygen service on the same oil laden bench that they clean their paintball guns on. I just don't know how Randy can train these guys with out seeing what they are really doing ". 3)These guys are idiots adn dangerous, and the only reason I am going to teach for them is because I have no place else to teach. (To this day I have not understood why he would work for these guys) 4)He said, and I quote "Bob, I don't know how Randy can certify these guys, they are irresponsible and dangerous. The only readon they are going all the way up to Randy is that they have not been able to find anyone else to train them" It was after this conversation, which you have only read the tip of the iceberg, that I decided to not give Gerry his card and refund his money (Bad Attitude, would'nt you say??). If I was a racist of any kind, I never would have taken Gerry into the program in the first place, he IS Puerto Rican!! >>You called me and told me about the situation after I had already sold them the parts to build a fill station and after they had taken my blender's course. And it was after all of this, after I called you and told you, that you decided to enroll Gerry into another training program, knowing I bounced him out as PER STANDARDS!!! What the hell good were the standards if I observe them, and then a BOARD MEMBER (you) overrides it???And you call me an asshole?? I have no problem with Puerto Ricans or any race, creed or religion. If I did, I never would have enrolled Gerry in the first place. And I was not the only one to have a problem with this particular dive store, and I told you that. They were turned down by ANDI, John Comly, and lord knows who, BEFORE ME, and I TOLD YOU THAT. And as far as me having a problem with "anyone who wants to do nitrox within 20 miles of your store", I suggest you contact the following dive stores and get your facts straight. I have helped, answered questions and or trained the following places, all within 20 miles of my store. Dave Stroh-Underwater World, George Horn--Scuba Divine, Chuck McCormick-Swim King Dive shop (who I reccomended have YOUR COMPANY clean his haskel), Bob Lyons-Kings County Scuba, Steve Belienda-Wahoo, Larry Gerber-Seascapes Dive Center, Ken Gritt-Scuba University (whom I again suggested he contact YOU for the purchase/cleaning of a haskel pump), and the list goes on. So you see, Mr. C. Randy Bohrer, although I have a problem with a backstabbing weasel like you, I still am big enough to recognize where you do provide a valuable service, and reccomend you. >> Furthermore, my wife didn't call you on the telephone, you called to verify that we received a threatening fax that you sent. If you recall, my first phone call to you was to tell you about a serious problem with a store/instructor you were training, and that you should know what they are really about. You chose to make it personal with me, not the other way around. And that surprised me as I THOUGHT we had a good repoir with each other. I called to warn you about them, as I had been warned. Unless you made a big change within the last three years, you can't guarantee oxygen compatible air. At that time, you had never even heard of Lawrence Factor's HF-961-131 filter system, and you were not purchasing oxygen compatible air testing services from them (they were the only ones that did it at the time). I suppose you are one of the experts that can determine whether your air is clean enough by looking at a standard breathing air test.>> Nope, never said or claimed to be an expert, you did. And can you GUARANTEE that everyone YOU TRAIN will have Oxygen Compatable Air. We all know the answer hear, so don't enlighten us. Unless they adhere to what you teach them, stick to maintenance, they can't. Again, this was my point with the store you were setting up. You can try covering up the real issue here with stupid, unfounded attacks. Most people will see right through you. And if I had a real agenda against you, or if I wanted to attack you without ANY regard, I never would have sent my post to you in the first place-I would have sent it to the list right away. But because it HAPPENED THREE YEARS AGO, I decided to only send it to you, who WAS CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK. You know nothing about me or what I do in the store. JD Selser is my service tech.-and one of the best in the business. He takes care of everything, and has been for several years. Everything we have he gets from LF, Gotco, Swagelok etc. And you're wrong about the LF HF-961-131 filter system-you informed me of it back then, if I recall, not too long after YOU serviced my haskel. I NEVER questioned your technical abilities, and to this day have still reccomended your company to others. I only questioned your judgment regarding supporting standards and reccomendations of others. And if I was wrong about the above mentioned Dive store, why did IANTD deny there store status?? Why did SeaQuest refuse to open them as a dealer, even after they threatened the sales rep with a law suit saying that they were not opened becasue they were Puerto Rican ( the same crap they tried to pull on Tom)?? You know Randy, these guys use their nationality to try and pursuade people to do business with them if all else fails. Call me an Asshole, it does not bother me in the least. What you did was dead wrong, and until you admit and apoligize, which I know you will not do, I won't get over it.
