I just received a message from Mr. Bob Raimo which is CC'd to this forum in response to some of my comments. I won't repost the whole thing, you'll see it anyway. Mr. Raimo: You are to be commended for a reasonably calm response to a highly inflamatory and insulting post (you are no fun at all). The bottom line is, we will never agree on this. The guys at Stingray took my blender's course and bought the stuff to build a system, before I heard from you. I did have the option to withhold their certs and refund their money (or keep their money), but, they met the course standards and were taking every action that they should to do things right. Therefore, I disagreed with you when you told me they were bad news. All the other stuff you told me about that Gerry had said about them (how they didn't know what was going on, how Gerry couldn't understand how I could train them, etc.) was after their training (but as you said, before their certs were issued) and still in contradiction to my own experience with them. I also disagreed with you about Gerard Esposito and enrolled him in a Nitrox Instructor program, as you said. But, you yelled again, only louder (which you should do if you believe in what you are saying), then I did not train him. I think I did a good job all around. The only thing I did wrong was trying to kiss everyone's ass. I ended up pissing you off big time, and although the guys at Stingray are nice enough to me, I think I left them with at least a few hard feelings. I never did any more business with Gerard (Gerry), and except for the odd analyzer sale now and then, have not had much more business with Stingray. Saying that you have a problem with Puerto Ricans was at best unfair. I don't know what you think of Hispanics. You gave those boys such a hard time that one might think the worst. On a humorous note, you have made the same mistake that I did. Gerard Esposito is not Hispanic, he's Italian! I sent him an e-mail in Spanish and he had to get Pablo to translate it for him! Oh Well! I thank you for any business that you may have sent my way. Swim King spent a lot of money with me and I know that they did things right (filter system and booster I supplied or refurbed, panel that you supplied) -- If you had anything to do with that, thanks. Back to the original post (before the one with my ravings). I continue to hear rumors about instructors violating standards by running half-assed classes and taking people in higher level tech classes that don't meet the pre-reqs. I don't have proof, only rumour. I won't name names without proof. What have I done about it? Asked the agencies to send questionaires randomly to students of established instructors and to all students of new instructors. I don't know if they do this, but I have never heard of anyone receiving one of these questionaires. This one QA effort would stop a lot of the nonsense that you originally posted about, and I agreeed with (can't I post something in agreement with you without you bringing up a disagreement that we had three years ago?). Now, it's time to move forward. We both have better things to do than this (wouldn't you rather be reading your son a story or doing the nasty with your wife than reading my nonsense?). If you know for sure of people violating standards, say it! If you think I'm doing something wrong, say it! I'll either try to set you straight or I'll clean up my act -- maybe the ones that really are screwing up will too. See Ya, C.
