Chris,

I dive the Abyss with doubles.  Here's what I have done:
Mount the Abyss on so that the High pressure port you are using is on the 
outside of the tanks, this way the SPG hose will not "crash" into the other 
tank.  If you happen to mount the SPG on the left side of the reg. (when 
facing the front of the reg) then your problems are solved.  If like me, you 
positioned on the other tank, all you need do is buy an extra long second 
stage hose.  Note, if your using standard Aluminum 80's or smaller you 
probably won't need a longer hose.

I dive on Mares Abyss and one Scubapro MK15/G250.  If you want to use two 
Abyss' then your pressure gauges will have to be on opposite sides.

The Abyss does however make it next to impossible to use a Y-valve (slingshot 
valve) properly.
