Hello, I'm new to the Net and this bulletin board. The sign-on message requested an introduction, so here goes. I heard of TECHDIVER through my work at a Navy R&D Lab, where I am a mechanical engineer working with diving and life support systems. I've been diving for 17 years, with the last ten years involved in cave diving in Florida (although I have been fairly inactive for the past few years). I am interested in all aspects of "technical diving" listed in your message. Exploring Florida caves has exposed me to most of these including: deep (<250'), decompression, long (up to six hours), and a little mixed gas diving. I have a request for my first input. I may have missed this in the archives, but I'm interested in hearing about the Zeigle (sp?) BC's that some of you have mentioned. Do they offer built-in redundancy? We use the standard back-mount (wing style) BC's with a back plate for Dbl. 104's and I have been concerned about the consequences of a total BC failure on a deep and/or long penetration. Thanks!
