A 1" strap will give you a wedgie, especially when scootering. A 2"
strap distributes the pressure over a larger area. It also provides a
wider "platform" for attaching D-rings - I have a full-sized D-ring
right over my butt, where I can hang extra reels, spools, or whatnot
(keeps them out of the way, and completely in the slipstream of my
big wide ass).
