Bill,
I have been diving the solution for a couple of years and love it.
I primarily use it for deep decompression dives 180 - 240's. I have also
used an aladin pro for my second computer. There is very little
difference between the two in my opinion. Both are rated beyond 300 both
are full decompression computers. You can adjust the alt function on the
solution to add a bit of conservancy in your profiles if desired. The
things that I like more about the solution than the pro is the size and
the anoying beeping doesnt exist. I normally dive deep air and use nitrox
for decompression. I follow the most conservative computer which varies
on the first dive the pro is the more conservative and on subsequent
dives the solution in my experience has been the more conservative of the
two. As for depth reading they have been always within 1 - 2 feet of each
other. I am looking forward to the new Aladin X supposedly out on the
market. But will never replace my solution. Only drawback is the battery
is not user replaceable in the model I have. I have heard that the new
solution has a user replaceable battery.
