I have been using a ScubaPro MK20/D500. It did ice and freeflow on me a couple of times, but it was my own fault - In both cases I had used it to fill a lift bag in cold water. Since I fitted it with the T.I.S. (a year and a half ago) I have not had a free flow with it. I dive mostly in the Great Lakes and I dive nearly every weekend all winter. ScubaPro just came out with a new first stage - the Mark 14. It looks like a fat MK20. It is a balanced diaphragm regulator with an incredable flow rate. It comes with T.I.S. as a standard feature so it should be about the ultimate in cold water regulators. Hope this helps.
