This is a tragic accident that should have been avoided. I don't know what the laws are in Australia, however, someone should loose there Capt. ticket, and the Divemaster should loose there card. This does not need to happen. Robert Lockard ______________________________ Forward Header __________________________________ Subject: Beach search sheds no light on Divers' fate. Author: "Dr. J. "Investigations are continuing but there has been no breakthrough," police spokesman Brain Swift said. The up-market tourist town of Port Douglas had been the base for a massive police and volunteer search for Thomas Lonergan, 33, and his wife Eileen Lonergran, 28, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The pair were among 26 recreational divers taken to St. Crispin Reef on the Great Barrier Reef last Sunday and were last seen when they entered the water mid-afternoon wearing wetsuits and scuba gear. The couple were apparently left behind by the dive boat "Outer Edge," which arrived back at Port Douglas at 5 P.M. They were not immediately missed and police were not alerted until Tuesday, almost 50 hours later. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
