Hi everyone, Sorry if this is a repeat, just had a crash + burn A couple of weeks ago I asked if people could mail me with their personal experiences of DCI in the 60-90 m (200-300 fsw) range. I promised to compile the results in an easy to read form, and maybe give us an idea of the actual risk of diving in this range. Sorry, I hate to break a promise, but the info is so scrambled up that I can't massage it into a viable form. All I have really found out is that the question is *MUCH* harder to answer than I thought. There seems to be a VERY strong pressure to either not report, or fudge reports. Nearly all of the respondents said "No-one else knows, please don't tell anyone" Many Many DCI cases refused treatment for fear of dicovery!! I also got responses from loose associations of divers. In one case they reported no DCI at all in that range, then later I got a 2nd hand report of DCI within that group that was bad enough for a chamber ride. One Regular deep diver estimated that 80% of dives in this range resulted in DCI of one sort or another "niggles". He said he had Never dived below 220 fsw without some DCI symptoms. (this is not my experience, but his) I don't know what is going on here. Some divers reporting 100% hit rate and others with similar procedures reporting 0%, while others are reporting 1-4% rates. Anyone care to comment?? Confused Jason Rogers :-\ (that's an attempt at a puzzled look)
