Jason (gasdive@sy*.di*.oz*.au*) mentioned the differential
weight of full and empty cylinders.

I did some calculations last month for our clubs newsletter
concerning this very problem.

I have tabulated the results for air below. Note that the
differences for Enriched Nitrox mixes will be slightly more. If
anyone is interested I can forward the whole article to them.

Table of air masses in kilograms for different cylinder capacities
against pressure in bar.

Pressure /bar	10	20	50	100	150	182
Cyl. Cap./litres
	2	0.03	0.05	0.13	0.26	0.39	0.47
	3	0.04	0.08	0.19	0.39	0.58	0.70
	10	0.13	0.26	0.64	1.29	1.93	2.34
	12	0.15	0.31	0.77	1.54	2.31	2.81
	15	0.19	0.39	0.96	1.93	2.89	3.51

For those not used to the units 1kg is 2.2 lbs; 1bar is 1 atmosphere
or 101kPa or 14.7 psi; 1 litre is 0.0353 cubic foot (don't forget
that cylinder capacities measured in cubic foot are usually the
volume multiplied by the working pressure)
