So the emphasis shifts from "what's too deep" to "what's a reasonable logistical/expense limit for a given objective". HPNS is the primary concern actually related to depth, but commerical divers have done 2000+ ft, (habitat or surface-supplied). For SCUBA, the issues become exposure, logistics, gas-planning/management, and expense.
