I built one of these in addition to standard V weights. As part of the moulding process, I recessed and moulded the SS studding as an integral part of the outside weight and used a small V locking weight in the inside with an oversized hole to slot onto the SS studding. The locking nuts to hold the outside weight were recessed and then filled in with molten lead. This leaves the outside weight clean and snag free. Recesses on the locking weight were also made so the nut is flush. A brace and (cheap) bit will cut the recess.
