It sounded on first reading much much too much like it was what caused you medical woes. Man, would that hurt!!! It sounds too much like a bit of stroke gear whose only hypothetical advantage is you can still attach it to yourself when you're diving stark naked, but which has the major disadvantage that you can't wear it and a P-valve too, if you understand my drift. I dunno, maybe it helps increase the length or something, although it boggles the imagination. Seriously, there's a third possible V-weight position, in the outside V of the tanks, with a length of stainless strap holding it to the bolts on that side.
