Subject: RE: DUI Leaking Seals
Used to have the same problem with my CF200 with neoprene seals. The leaking
came about when I was bending my wrist etc the result being a channel
developing on the inside of the wrist ( carpal tunnel?).

I had DUI fit some latex seals on the INSIDE of the neoprene ones about 18
months ago and it hasn't been a problem since.

Subject:	DUI Leaking Seals

WOW look two in a row, it's a record for me!
Hi All,

I've been battling a problem with leaking neoprene wrist seals on my DUI
CF200. In the summer the seals only leak a little while in the winter
they leak a lot more. Last time out I was soaked past my elbows after
only 30 minutes. The seals are in perfect condition as I try and
maintain my suit really well. My thinking is that in the cold water
maybe my wrists shrink because of the cold water, don't know if that
makes any sense. The other thing I've noticed is that in the cold I
naturally put in more air to keep warm. Maybe the added air is causing
the problem. When I start leaking I need to keep adding air to keep
warm and comfortable but this just causes my leaking wrist seals to leak
more and vent air out. I have 7mm gauntlet gloves so its not that the
seal is directly exposed to water current's as one person already
suggested.

I ordered a set of Latex cuffs from LeisurePro. I'm thinking of Aqua
sealing the latex cuffs over the neoprene. Figure it should seal real
good and if the latex rips then I'm back to where I started. Kind of
get the best of both worlds. Someone else suggested using small bungie
cords to tighten up the seal, I'm worried about them being too tight and
cutting off circulation. Another idea I thought of was to use a bicycle
tire tube to slip over the neoprene seal and my wrist. I think I'm
going to try the replacement wrist cuffs as they will probably sea the
best.

Anybody sot any other ideas of have a similar situation??

Thanks way in advance,
Safe diving,
Art.
