Subject: Rethinking Deco: Counterdiffusion
Right on the target Will!
I always thought that switching from a high Helium mix, to no Helium and
high Nitrogen, would be a bad idea. I thought that a "thick" Nitrogen
ongassing would act as a barrier to a "light" Helium offgassing.
But even Buhlman book (4th Edition) or Bennet and Elliot do not consider
the gradient during offgassing.
And you actually get a shorter deco the deeper you switch to air or Eanx.
All deco software produce the same result more or less.
But a shorter deco doesn't mean a better one, it is just a mathematical model.
Is the next version of Z-Plan taking this into consideration?
(I would also like to have a Runtime and CNS exposure for every stop.)

Happy new year

Roberto
