G- I'm glad he is a valuable member of your team. I did have respect for him until this incident, now I just think he is a pompus ass. If you have followed the entire discussion you have seen that I simply offered a suggestion to a question posted by another diver on that list. He and one other member completely misread my suggestion and it's intentions and started acting in a childish and vindictive way. On some of his later posts it even became apparent that he had not even read my earlier posts so how could he be building a genuine arguement? He was simply looking for a fight and I have little tolerance of such games, no matter who plays them. I don't hold this opinion alone, many others sent me messages in support over both my suggestion and aginst Jeff's childish actions. You and others of your team understand what I am trying to create out here and that I have similar values when it comes to education, gear & safety as you guys do. Obviously once I finally get out there some of our details will change and our group will improve. I totally believe in shutting up & listening when the time is proper, but I also believe in speaking up when appropriate. Jeff's personal attacks were based on complete ignorance and disrespect of our values and what were trying to do. How else should I have handled him? Regards, Jeremy At 07:56 AM 12/21/97 -0500, G.
