Rick, It's doubtful that I'd ever apply for either sticker or whatever they are. But I did sort of promise myself that I wouldn't even own a scooter until I'd booked at least 100 dives in various systems. I think you're missing the point - it's not the sticker that's the prereq. It's the assumption that a cave diver should have developed adequate buoyancy control, familiarity with the systems, and judgement of his/her limitations in the course of completing 100 dives. (And hopefully done some sort of scooter acclimitization training in open water before venturing into a cave with one....) You've no doubt seen the gouges in the clay, the housing scrapings on the overhead and cave floor often enough - you figure it's the real experienced guys that give a shit about the resource that leave them? Or the putzes that just picked up their cave cards and a Mako and want to go smoke some cave?
