All, Did a great fun dive a couple of weeks ago that is worth recommending on the list so grant me this one transgresion if you will. Went out with Robert Charmichael and Errol Kalayci through Brownie's shop in Ft. Lauderdale to dive the gavin scooters on the reef line. We dropped onto the Mercedes and zoomed around it a little then took off along the reef. Took the video camera and got a few good feet of tape by holding the camera out while scootering along (a little bumpy but still neet). This is a must do dive for anyone that's in the area and qualified. Call ahead to make sure you have a suitable gear set up - nothing complicated or costly, just little things that make it easier and safer like a hood with a skirt and a D' ring on a crotch strap. Errol is very accommodating, the boat is excellent, and the gear is top of the line. They will also do these dives around the area wrecks. This is not a high tech dive but then it's not for the casual recreational diver either. You just need to have enough diving experience that you can afford to think about what you are doing with the scooter and staying with the team. We dove nitrox because of the depth and time but I'm not sure if this is necessary or not - probably depends on what there is to see at shallower depths. This is a dive even burned out old salts will have fun on. Don't miss it if you're down that way. Thanks Errol and Robert for a great time, looking forward to another one soon, Chuck -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
