Re Progress in Underwater Science 16, an article on (if I remember correctly) Florida State U, whose underwater support department ran doppler tests on all divers returning from dives under the auspices of the university. Scale 1-4 (symptomatic hits = 5, i.e. not on this scale) 1= no detectable signal 3= advise cautionary behaviour (re excersize etc) 4= recompress as precautionary measure. Obviously trained personnel were carrying out tests. I apologise if I have misremembered the details etc. this is coming from memory - I posted a query as to whether anyone else had heard of this department and got no reply, so they may not exist anymore. The journal was a set of papers presented at a conference. Others included DCS and computers: a chambers operators viewpoint, and an article on Spinal DCS to give an idea of how complicated the pathology might be in any DCS hit. yrs. Jason.
