I think Bill Mee posted something about this a while ago. Anyway, his method works well, so here it is: 1) get some modeling clay and mold it to your tanks to get the shape. 2) Mix up some plaster and put the clay in to make a mold. 3) dry out the plaster (takes a while). You may need to bake it. 4) Melt some lead. I used a welding torch and a metal pot. It's easier to melt the lead shot than the big bricks. 5) Remove all the slag from the lead before pouring. 6) Make sure the mold is level, and pour away. This is easier than screwing around with tinfoil, pouring plaster to make a plug, etc. You can get the exact shape with modeling clay, and assemble the backplate to make sure it is not to tall. -Jon -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
