I'm new to this news group and have followed with great interest the on going discussion about deep air diving. the tone of some messages posted on this subject, in my opinion, are less than likely to produce anything other than a continuation of the slanging match. This aside, as a TDI Instructor, I'm a little confused! Isn't the absolute limit for air dives 66m? If there is clear aurgument for reducing this -should we not all be interested in reducing that further? (Incidently have noted the information about adding deeper stops -thanks). Rob Palmer was the instructor on my Nitrox Instructor course - I thought he was a generous, humble, deeply likeble human being - a pioneer. However his death should make it clear to all that deep air diving, I hear the stories, ' we did 130m', is madness. As a diving professional my loyalties are to the people I teach! not to any individual, newsgroup, training organisation, intellectual bully. However facts are facts and we we all ignore them at our peril! -- oceanquest diving centre -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
