Wendy - the computers are padded and give an inaccurate blooming of the shallow stops. In addition, the Bulhman model only partially accounts for deco - you need to combine a bubble mechanics model with the decay curve shape to arive at anythig usefull . You will find no computer that does this, unless Will has his out or you can buy one of Rod's. What we do is work with the shapes and possilbilities and familiarize ourselves with the various nuances to arrive at the right schedule on the fly. We use bottom timers, and for long dives, we may add in a watch just to keep from blowing 100 minutes here or there ( most of the timers do not have a third digit driver, although the newer ones might). Unfortuneatley, even the best intending players like Lamar are constrained by the "liability" issues, and , as I said, ther is no combined model on the market. Use a timer, and rembember where your real redundency is - your buddy, and the rest of your instruments, like your pressure guage. Learn to use them as checks. You may not wnat to hear this, but then you might want to save the money for something usefull. usnseal@ne*.co* wrote: > > I used to used an Aladdin Pro computer which recently died.
