First off, I sold Lake Superior Dive Tours Inc. almost a year ago. Second, The numbers Greg has for the Aurania are in 150' to 200' feet. (I could find the Panther using his numbers for the wreck). Thirdly, Using his numbers would locate yourself 11miles from the nearest U.S. land access and 12 miles from the nearest Canadian land access. If the Bay freezes (and I do mean if it freezes period) like it did last year (pack Ice) it would take you four hours to get to the site one way by Skidoo. We only have 8 hours of day light that time of year. Forthly, if you think you walz out on W. Fish Bay in Feb. cut a hole and dive, your crazy. I don't care about the water temp. it's the surface weather is of more concern. For those of you down south it's WINTER up here and as such - 30 deg. C to -40 deg. C would not be uncommon with no wind chill factor. As a forestry technician I work in these cold conditions every winter and know better than to dive under these conditions. And finally Greg I have no idea were you think I was qualified to do a 400'+ dive. I've been surface support for lots of technical dives ( one 500'+), but I'm comfortable diving to 140' on air. (I am going to get trimix soon as $ and time permit). If by now I have not convinced you that this is a bad plan from the start and it makes you want to dive it even more. I will arrange the surface support for anyone wanting to attempt a dive on bogus numbers for a fee. On the other hand I will be diving the Sagamore(70') in W.Fish Bay about the same time. This site is 2 miles from a sauna. Or you may like another ice dive on the Farwell (45') that is located 100 yards from a sauna. On the Sagamore and the Farwell the fee is the labor in helping to cut the hole 0-). BTW diving is NOT a game or a competitive sport. I dive to get away from people like Greg who, by way of me writing this email, has wasted 15 minutes of my time. Randy Sullivan Sault Ste.
