Christo wrote: <snip> The "fat slob" you are talking about I presume is Hennie Pretorius. He died on a Trimix dive. He surfaced and died a day (two days) later in hospital. I will not bore you with the actual details, it might just show your ignorance in THIS case. (I don't know any of the REAL facts of any of the other cases that you so freely shout about. I hope your are better informed than in this case!) <end snip> How about giving us the facts of Hennie's death, Christo. There have been dozens of rumours circulating, but no official word from TDI in South Africa. Surely they should have issued a statement to their own instructors? Surely TDI would want to publicise the facts if it would clear them? Since you appear to have the facts, could you comment on the following: Was this a trimix DIVER course or a trimix INSTRUCTOR course? What were the planned and actual depths of the dive? What is the official TDI depth limit on trimix diver courses? How many trimix dives must one do before attending a TDI trimix instructor course? How many trimix dives did Hennie have? Had Hennie previously suffered atacks of "bends" while diving within the tables? If so, when was the most recent? If so, were the TDI course directors aware of this? Is it true that Hennie surfaced after everyone else, including the support divers? That he was not monitored by the support divers at the time that the "bends" hit? The answers to these would clear up many of the rumours which have been floating around since his death. If you have the facts, please give them.
