I have used the Solution since it first came out and the EON since early
this year.

The information displayed whilst diving is similar with the EON showing
digitally the maximum depth whilst the Solution shows this only as a bar
chart which I find is usually off the scale (over 40m/132ft). The EON is
an air-integrated computer and therefore also shows tank pressure and
remaining air time.

I find the decompression information given by the two computers to be
within 5 or 10 minutes over a total stop time of over 2 hours. The
difference could be related to the positions on me that they are at in
the water as on the bottom, the EON is usually about 1ft deeper than the
Solution and deco, it is 2ft deeper.

I can not comment on the remaining air time function as I never dive with
a single or manifolded tank.

Someone else made a comment about the "inacuracy" of the remaining deco time
display. From memory, this is explained or hinted to in the manual. If
the display reads, say, 30 mins deco, then that is what it will take for you
to reach the surface as a MINIMUM. If you ascend too slowly, or if the
computer indicates a, say, 6m ceiling and you hang at 8m, then it will take
longer than the 30mins as you would expect.

The Solution still gives you deco information on a second dive when it is
in error mode from the first dive whilst the EON does not. I have not
checked how valid this deco information is. They will both go into error
mode if you exceed the maximum depth or if you surface without finishing
any indicated deco.

The PC interface and software for both work fine and require you to have
the discipline of filling in a log even if that log is very brief. The EON
can be set to record info at 20, 30 or 60 second intervals whilst the Solution
will only record at 3 minute intervals. The EON includes a calendar/clock so
it knows what date the dives were and also the times of starts of the dives;
it also knows your start and end tank pressures.
