I believe that Helium is extracted from the minute traces in air by a
fractional distillation process. Helium is inert, so it doesn't form
chemical compounds and is almost always a gas.

You could, of course, fuse it from hydrogen.
Just take a trip to the sun and scoop some offthe surface.
