Art- NOAA had decreed, in their infinite wisdom, that them Monitor is rotting away (duh!) down there on the bottom of the sea, and it needs to be slavaged. So, after botching the job to raise the propeller (one of the first propellers ever made) they have determined that it was because they were underfunded. So it's really yours and my fault they botched the job. So now they want $20,000,000, that's twenty milllllllion dollars, of yours and my money to haul up the "cheesebox", engine and (if they don't botch it again) the prop. Personally I think that the monitor is doing just fine down there and they should leave it alone. It's amazing. Anything that our government touchs go's to shit. And I will bet you that if these bozo's try to raise the Monitor, they will fuck it up beyond all recognition and the cost of the job will escalate to $80,000,000. How much do you want to bet? And in the meantime you can't get decent weather reports, CMAS bouys are rotting, the charts are going obsolete...
