There's lots of water lapping at the deck of the Steamboat this week. Due to record rainfall last week on the Okeefenokee, the Suwannee has risen almost five feet in four days.....overwhelming the hydrostatic heads of some area springs. The Santa Fe suffers proportionate backpressure accordingly. Cresting is expected at Luraville tomorrow. The good news is that all this should blow out quickly as there is no more water coming this way and all area aquifers are primed to pump. Ginnie/Devil's Eye - Clear...go for it. Peacock Spring - Clear.....no appreciable flow. Cow Spring - Blasting out of the upstream. Royal - Slightly tannic from river intrusion. Little River - Started syphoning at midnight last night. Water now at the sixth step.....toast for the weekend. Telford Spring - Not today. Troy Spring - Not tomorrow. Shingle Spring - Green and pumping. Bonnet Spring - Full of gators, no flow. Azure Blue - Spanking, if you want to brave the rappel. This real time report was brought to you by Steamboat.....purveyors of ScubaPro, Poseidon, Sherwood, DUI, AUL, Dive-Rite, Lincoln, H&K and other neat stuff.
