I'm sure you will hear this from everybody but, your assumption that O2 
"hit" statistics equals 0% incidence at PPO2 levels of 1.4 is not true. 
In fact there doesn't seem to be enough "statistical evidence" on the 
subject to make any valid conclusions. But suffice it to say that in a 
stressful situation (or long exposure) 1.4 can be downright dangerous. 
Poor dive planning assumes that the dive is going to go smooth as silk. 
Don't forget that bad things can and do happen.
