This is from Tony - maybe the slob can call NOAA and complain about him. -- I've sat back and completely avoided these lists for the past 8 months because the bullshit was not even funny anymore. Unfortunately, I can no longer stand idly by while George Irvine and the WKPP get slammed by every limp wristed, deep air diving, pole smoker out there. Seems like Brett Gilliam and TDI have their panties in a wad over Georges critical opinions regarding TDI and its continued support of deep air diving. It is time for Gilliam and everyone at TDI to wake up and smell the rotting corpses piling up in front of the Deep Air Sacrificial Alter that TDI and many other babbling idiots pay homage to. Diving to ever greater depths, carries increased risk. Doing so with less than optimal gases and equipment, is stupid or at the very least, ignorant. Being a training agency and not espousing the most current, correct and safest methods for diving, is bordering on criminal negligence. The last time I checked, on the Internet and especially in America, voicing ones opinion - regardless of how critical it may be, is fully accepted and even encouraged. I do not see why Gilliam/TDI/Deep Tech would go through so much trouble and expense in a meaningless and underhanded campaign against George Irvine and the WKPP, unless of course, they have something to fear. If TDI has nothing to be ashamed of, why do they have to resort to tactics such as printing articles in magazines, contacting employers and sponsors, and secretly witnessing conversations. A cornered rat will lash out in whatever manner available. > > What's amusing to me is that Irvine really thinks that anyone takes him > seriously or that anyone doesn't see through the absurd charade of his > mis-attributed postings when he's too chicken to sign his own name. And > the idea that millionaires like King and Gilliam might be affected by > Irvine's rants only sadly reflected his continued distorted view of > reality in an industry that has no time for him or his nutcase > disciples. > If certain entities of said industry wish to continue doing business, they should look past the manner in which this criticism is presented and take to heart the message behind it. The public will be fooled only so long. Eventually, the truth will fully permeate the population and companies like TDI will be exposed for what they really are, a business trying to make the most money possible regardless of what they have to do. Making money is the American way, but when you let your hunger for ever larger Certificates of Deposit get in the way of sound judgment and actually put peoples lives into unnecessary danger, you have to stop. When people look to TDI and Gilliam as examples of technical diving they expect to receive the latest and greatest information with regards to methods and equipment. This is not what they are getting. TDIs attempts to dilute the issues by attacking their most vocal opponent, instead of debating said issues, only goes to show that they are doing damage control. The truth hurts. Tony Martinez ps I'm not on techdiver, someone post this there for me. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
