Hey, Alex- I was watching the history of BMW on the boob tube. It showed early BMW coupes racing showroom stock, I suppose, around the track, occasionally one would spin out and flip over a few times. The film invariably showed the driver climbing out of the back seat to get out of the car. These guys were racing with no seatbelts on. If you look today were the driver is in a nomex, water cooled, air supplied, rollcage encased survival capsule which gos fast. Wonder how many good race drivers died or became no-name paraplegics before they overcame their macho and put on a stupid seat belt? Sorta like deep air?
