Subject: Re: JJ, Bret and Deep Tech

 All,
This is maybe my second post to this list. I have not posted before
primarily because I have had little to contribute to the discussion. Instead
I have been learning from it.

However I am motivated to speak because of JJ's articulate comments.

I do not wish to have any person slienced; any who labor to do so are wrong,
period.

I find the discussion here often to be quite profane, as life often is.

I have found nothing here on this list to be worse than the comments of Mr.
Bret Gilliam at Beneath the Sea97( where he publicly slandered women and
lesbians in my opinion..although I personally didn't mind because A) i'm not
a woman or a lesbian and B) even Mr. Gilliam has the right to speak.)

Indeed the profanity here is much more useful as I would think it should
illuminate to the dimmer bulbs in the audience when a particular practice is
undesirable or unsafe.

I hope Mr. Irvine continues to post here and should he leave I would like to
know where else I can get his opinion on diving practices. I find him both
humorous and informative.

I am reminded of a quote by a Frenchman
" I may not agree with what you say,but I will defend to the death your right
to say it."

Remember stand up for them now or there may be no one left to stand up for
you.

  Sincerely,

 Albert J. Marvelli
