Hello,
I have subscribed to TechDiver just yesterday and as the readme suggests,
I try to introduce myself a lil' bit...
I started diving about two years ago on the Maldives and did my CMAS Open
Water Diver there.
Back home I did a crossover from CMAS (Barakuda) to PADI, because the
training programmes seemed good to me (and still do!) and the local dive
shop is a PADI facility.
I did several PADI courses in the meantime and on Saturday or Sunday I will
be starting my divemaster course.
I am satisfied with PADI (gosh!), opposed to many others on rec.scuba, it seems.
A reason for that might be my instructor, who takes training serious (not just
making money) and would definitely not let anyone pass a course without proper
knowledge and techniques.
But somehow I always (well, not in the beginning) fancied the technical
side of diving, especially deep diving (although more or less 'forbidden'
by PADI). But it seems quite difficult to find good training (on deep diving
as well as on other aspects of technical diving) - so does anyone know where
to start ?
Well, I guess that's it... are there any German divers on the list ?
