Just for what it's worth. I wore hard contact lenes while diving
for over 10 years back in the 70's-80's.  About 500+ dives.  I
never had a problem underwater.  I did have dry out problems on
land. They were always easier to wear in the water "fresh or salt".
As some of you might know, hard lenes are generally smaller than
soft.  Mine were 7mm.  I've lost my mask several times.  I never
lost my lenes. Maybe because I squinted in order so they would-not
float out.  My $.02 for what its worth.
