James, You have no idea about what you are talking. Cobb is perhaps one of the best bs filters we have out there against stupidity, personal preferencism, doing it wrongism and all of the general idiocy which afflicts socalled "technical diving". He is a real voice of truth and if you missed his recent and very appropriate post on the very real problem of being lost offshore you are missing the best that this list has to offer. Cobb calls it like it is. Not only was his recent vignette humorous and well written but it highlighted the most serious risk in all open water diving. That of being adrift and alone. If you have never experienced this I suggest you arrange for a trip up to Whitefish Point. Maybe they can arrange a special charter for you. You are apparently offended by hyperbole and baudy language. Tell me something. Does death offend you? Are you attracted to roadkills and other highway carnage? From your glib little comment here I am led to believe that you find death to be a more "polite" alternative than life. There is nothing polite about death. Your voluntary self censorship is a mindless poorly reasoned exercise. Regards, Bill Mee James E.
