BTW, Jammer -- Big Pine Key is in the Florida Keys, and Underseas is at mile marker 30 or so. USS EISENHOWER RESCUES CIVILIAN DIVER LOST AT SEA MAYPORT, FLA. (NWSA) -- USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69) CREW MEMBERS AND CARRIER AIR WING 17 PERSONNEL RESCUED A CIVILIAN DIVER AUG. 25 THAT HAD BEEN LOST AT SEA AND ADRIFT FOR 24 HOURS. THE CIVILIAN DIVER, GEORGE LABAHN OF THE MAYPORT, FLA., AREA WAS REPORTED MISSING AFTER BEING SEPARATED FROM HIS DIVING BOAT "BRAND X II" THE DAY BEFORE. LABAHN WAS SPOTTED IN THE WATER BY THE EISENHOWER CREW 53 MILES EAST OF MAYPORT. EISENHOWER IMMEDIATELY VECTORED A SEARCH AND RESCUE (SAR) HELICOPTER FROM HELICOPTER SQUADRON 15 TO RETRIEVE THE VICTIM. A SAR SWIMMER WAS LOWERED INTO THE WATER AND LABAHN WAS BROUGHT ABOARD, TREATED FOR FATIGUE AND DEHYDRATION AND THEN TAKEN BACK TO MAYPORT BY A COAST GUARD HELICOPTER.
