Dave, on TLS they are sewn to a piece of material than is laminated on .
This is with special cleaners, adhesive, and press. I would not try it
myself. I do not know what they do with the other types.

The p valves are cut with a punch glued either side and then a piece of
cf material is glued down on top. The retainers are sewn in on mine.
Bill Mee did one , but I would send it to the authorized facilities.
