So far the discussion of how hogarthian the isolation valve is has been quite interesting. However, either I'm missing something, or everyone else is. In my normal megalomanical state, I am inclined to think it is everyone else. So far, the discussion has assumed that if you don't use an isolation valve, then you use a non-isolation manifold. What about independent singles? Independent doubles seems more hogarthian, fewer failure points, less equipment. The major reason we are not all diving independent doubles seems to me to be based on the issue of convience. Reduced task loading from trying to keep the tanks balanced, etc. Personally I feel convience and comfort are just as reasonable a basis for a rig as horgarthian. But, if you wanted a strictly hogarthian rig, it seems independent singles is the way to go. I guess one could argue that you can leave the second SPG and LP at home if you have a manifold, making a manifold hogarthian. Then the discussion returns to normal, isolation vs. non-isolation manifolds. Andrew andrew@ce*.co*.jp* -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
