Remember, the US Coast Guard (who operate on the water) are a part of the Department of Transportation. (I can't imagine the USCG checking hydros along with fire extinguishers and lifejackets, though). ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Isn't the DOT certification on tanks required, SIMPLY because those tanks are carried on public highways and they need a standard safeguard against explosions and whatnot? What about tanks in a captive environment, say, a private dive boat (not necessarly a charter) or a resort? They never get on highways and presumably don't need a hydro??? -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
